Frances Fisher, William Atherton, Taryn Manning, Christina Pickles, Jay R. Ferguson and More, Set to Appear in Crackle’s Original Anthology Series “The Unknown”

CULVER CITY, Calif., March 22, 2012 — Frances Fisher (THE LINCOLN LAWYER), William Atherton (“Life”) and Taryn Manning (“Hawaii Five-0″), among others, will star in installments of the original anthology “The Unknown” for Crackle.com, the multi-platform video entertainment network. Kevin Connolly (“Entourage”) directs an episode featuring Jay R. Ferguson (“Mad Men”), Visual Effects specialist Sam Nicholson (“The Walking Dead”) directs Christina Pickles (“Friends”) and Martha Coolidge (REAL GENIUS) directs the remaining episodes. “The Unknown” is comprised of six 30-minute, standalone episodes that fuses drama, psychological thrills, suspense and horror.
Production on the highly-anticipated series which examines unexplained phenomena, executive produced by Chris Collins (“Sons of Anarchy”) and former LucasFilm executive Steve Tzirlin, commenced last month and the anthology will launch later this year on www.Crackle.com.
“The Unknown,” is another example of Crackle’s move into digital long-form series, joining the network’s portfolio of original content that includes the Webby Award-winning drama “Urban Wolf;” the highly lauded comedy series, “Backwash,” from Josh Malina, Danny Leiner & Daniel Schnider, which featured a talented array of actors, including Jon Hamm, John Stamos, Sarah Silverman and Hank Azaria, among others; as well as the Josh Cooke and Matt Oates hybrid series that combined live action and animation, and starred Cooke alongside the voices of Eric Stonestreet, Greg Grunberg, Seth Green and others.
Crackle continues to expand its brand across multiple platforms and services. Its recent launch on the Xbox LIVE service, in late January 2012, has received millions of online hours viewed by Xbox 360 users. The network’s highly successful mobile app launch last year also debuted as the #1 free entertainment download on both iPhone and iPad in just its first day.
